Can I change the category for an entry?

As a manager, you have the ability to change the category of an entry even after it has been submitted. This is particularly useful if an entrant submits their entry to the wrong category. 

For managers

  1. From the Manage workspace, go to Entries
  2. Click on the three dots next to the entry and select Edit

  3. Change the category and click Save + close
Important: if entry fields are different between categories, it could result in the entry is incomplete. Only when fields are common, will entry data be carried over to the new category.
If you want to recover the text, you must select the category initially selected by the entrant. 

For entrants

  1. In the Enter workspace, go to Entries
  2. Click on the name of the entry
  3. Select the new category from the drop-down
  4. Save + close (if you have copied the entry you can remove “(copy)” from the entry name)

If entries are locked after submission or the entry round is closed then the entrant will not be able to change the category. If this is the case, please see the steps above on how a program manager can change the category.
