Can I change the category for an entry?

Program managers can change the category of an entry after submission. This is useful if an entrant submits to the wrong category.

For managers

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Entries
  2. Click the ellipsis (three dots) next to the entry
  3. Select Edit
  4. Change the category from the drop-down
  5. Click Save + close

For entrants

Entrants can change their own category provided the entry is still editable.

  1. In the Enter workspace and go to Entries
  2. Click the entry name
  3. Select a new category from the drop-down
  4. Click Save + close

Good to know

  • If entry fields differ between categories, some data may not carry over. Only fields common to both categories will retain their data.
  • If data appears missing, switch back to the original category to recover it.
  • If entries are locked after submission or the round is closed, entrants cannot change categories. In that case, a program manager must make the change from the Manage workspace.
  • If an entry was copied, you can remove “(copy)” from the entry name before submitting.
