Cart management

For programs that collect entry payments, the cart management feature allows program managers to view and manage entrant carts before payment is completed.

From the Manage workspace at Payments > Carts, managers can:

  • View all active carts
  • Inspect the contents of an entrant’s cart
  • Empty a cart
  • Convert a cart to a paid invoice

View carts

Program managers can view all active carts and inspect their contents.

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Payments > Carts
  2. Click the ellipsis (three dots) next to an entrant’s name
  3. Select View

A modal window will display:

  • When the cart was created
  • Cart status
  • Currency
  • Entries in the cart
  • Individual entry prices
  • Cart total

Viewing carts can help identify issues such as pricing errors or abandoned carts.

Empty a cart

You may need to clear an entrant’s cart during testing or troubleshooting.

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Payments > Carts
  2. Click the ellipsis (three dots) next to the entrant
  3. Select Empty

You can also empty the cart from the view cart modal by selecting Empty cart and reset.

Convert a cart to a paid invoice

If your program accepts payments outside of Award Force, you can convert a cart to a paid invoice. The entrant must first add entries to their cart.

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Payments > Carts
  2. Click the ellipsis (three dots) next to the entrant
  3. Select View
  4. Click Convert to paid invoice

The invoice will be marked as paid and moved to Payments > Invoices.

Good to know

  • The Payments > Carts page lists all carts that have not yet been paid.
  • Once payment is completed, the entry moves from Payments > Carts to Payments > Invoices.
  • Carts automatically expire after 30 days of inactivity. Any change made to a cart resets the 30-day expiration timer.
  • Viewing carts can help identify abandoned carts or pricing issues before entries close.
  • Programs can accept payment via credit card, invoice, iDEAL, Alipay, or PayPal depending on configuration. Learn more in Payment configuration.
  • Program managers can also submit entries on behalf of entrants if needed. Learn more in Edit or submit an entry on behalf of an entrant.
