Privacy policy and terms of service

For GDPR purposes, Award Force clients (program owners or managers) act as the data controller.

  • The data controller decides how personal data is processed
  • Award Force acts as the data processor, handling data on your behalf
  • Your privacy policy governs how user data is handled within your program

Add a user agreement

You can configure a user agreement to present your terms and privacy policy to users during registration.

When enabled, users must review and accept the agreement before completing registration.

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Content > Content blocks
  2. Click Add content block
  3. Set Content location to User agreement
  4. Enter a Title (this appears as the clickable link)
  5. Add your Content (displayed in the agreement pop-up)
  6. Click Save

Display the agreement during registration

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Users > Registration
  2. Locate the 'Agreement to terms' section
  3. Click Modify default text
  4. Insert the {user_agreement} merge field where you want the link to appear
  5. Click Save

Users will now see a pop-up during registration and must click Read and agreed to continue.

Award Force user agreement

Good to know

  • Award Force provides a default privacy policy, but you can supply your own via the user agreement.
  • Only one user agreement content block can be active—the most recently created will display.
  • If you update your cookie policy link, it must include all Award Force cookies.
  • Your privacy policy (as the data controller) is what applies to data processing, not Award Force’s.
  • For more options, see: Data protection preparation / configuration options.
