Use cases
To help narrow down the number of total entrants that make it to the judging stage of your program, you may wish to employ an eligibility check. The auto-score feature makes this process incredibly simple when partnered with moderation, allowing you to spend more time evaluating quality entrants and less time sorting through those that don't meet the criteria. Here's how you could configure that:
- Set up your entry form as normal, adding auto-score fields as needed
- Open your entry round and allow entrants to submit their entries
- When entries have started to be submitted, go to Entries > Manage entries
- Click Advanced in the search bar
- Set the Status filter to Submitted
- Search
- If you haven't already made the 'Auto-score' column visible, click the cog icon, select the Auto-score checkbox, and Save
Note: depending on the number of columns selected and the size of your browser window, some columns may be hidden behind the + button. - Click the Auto-score column heading to sort by lowest to highest score or vice versa
- Select the checkboxes next to the highest/lowest scoring entries depending on which you would like to choose
- Open the Action drop-down
- Select your desired moderation status: Approved or Rejected
Tip: rejected entries are not included in judging panels by default and therefore will not make it to the evaluation stage. Should you choose to mark entries that qualify as being 'approved' be sure and select the Only include moderation approved entries checkbox when configuring a panel.
For some programs, judges may not be necessary to evaluate submissions. As an example, your program could award any participants that qualify, whether that be in a "Winners" gallery, a certificate, or some other means. Whatever your situation may be, the process to configure this is straightforward.
- Select the checkboxes next to the highest scoring entries; i.e. those who have selected the "correct" responses to your series of auto-score fields
- Open the Action drop-down
- Click Tag
- Key in your desired tag or create a new one
- Tag
Once tagged, you can choose to move these entries into a gallery, add badges, give certificates, and more! Additionally, you can use the advanced search to filter by this tag in the future to isolate just those submissions.
