Tag entries

What is tagging?

In Award Force, you can create and apply tags to entries. Tags act as managerial labels that assist with managing entries, particularly through judging panel configuration. Tagging is often used in programs that have multiple stages of judging (e.g. qualifying, shortlisting, finalist, and winner selection).

Important: tags may contain sensitive information and are not shown to judges or entrants. If you'd like these users to see tags, check out our guide: How can I allow judges to see tags?.

How do I tag an entry?

Individually:

  1. In the Manage workspace, from Entries or Judging > Leaderboard, click an entry
  2. Under 'Entry tags', in the tag input field simply type anything you want

Tip: tags can consist of single or multiple words.
  3. Previously used tags appear in a list as you type
  4. Hit the Return or Enter key on your keyboard to apply the tag

In bulk:

  1. In the Manage workspace, from Entries, or on Judging > Leaderboard, select the checkbox to the left of each entry you want to tag
  2. Open the Actions drop-down
  3. Click Tag
    Select tag from Action drop-down
  4. In the tag input field that appears, type in anything you want
  5. Previously used tags appear in a list as you type
  6. Click the Tag button to create/apply the tag to all selected entries

Tagging in the judging view

Program manager's may participate in an initial stage of judging where tagging could come in handy. Users with the program manager role can add a tag from the bottom of an entry when judging in the area shown below.

Tip: with the addition of the Tags Create and View permissions, additional user roles may tag entries and apply their own tags. For more information on roles and their permissions, see our guide: Ultimate guide to user roles.

Panel configuration using tags

When setting up a judging panel, if you have used tags on entries then a list of all available tags will be presented for you to choose from. If you select one or more of the tags listed, only submitted entries with those tags applied will show to judges on this panel. For full details, see: Create a judging panel.
